Shabbat Across America March 7th, 2008
Temple Israel of South Merrick participated with Synagogues across America on this Special Shabbat.Approximately 100 congregants attended a traditional congregational Shabbat Dinner that Rabbi Scott Hoffman lead the participants in the blessings over the Challah and wine, the washing of hands and Mrs. Hoffman said the blessings over the Shabbat candles. The Sanctuary was filled with approximately 170 congregants as Rabbi Hoffman conducted Shabbat Services as they were being held in all the other Synagogues across America. A lavish Oneg Shabbat was prepared by our Sisterhood members and enjoyed by all who attended following services.
